About Us
We have been an English Language Centre since 1984 and we welcome you to our Academic Term for 2010. There are eight members of staff who are qualified and experienced teachers, and up to 100 international students at any one time.
The two storey centre is an attractive, grade II listed building. It is in a quiet conservation area in the centre of Reading, 5 minutes' walk from the Oracle central shopping area. We have four classrooms, study rooms with internet access, TV/Video, and a kitchen.
Accreditation
The school is accredited by the Accreditation Body for Language Services (ABLS) and is also a member of the Association of British Language Schools.
This is an Accredited Centre for the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations which we organise in Reading for our own students and also students from other schools and language centres in Berkshire and surrounding areas.
DELTA - Teacher Training Diploma
We are currently running a course for experienced teachers leading to the University of Cambridge DELTA.
CELTA - Teacher Training Certificate
Our courses are for native and non-native students to train for the CELTA (University of Cambridge ESOL) qualification. Trainees follow the Cambridge syllabus towards gaining the Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults. The input and teaching practice all take place on site. Presently there are three courses per year held on two weekdays for approximately ten weeks.
